We are getting married on Wednesday, May 7th, 2014!
We are thrilled to tell you that we have decided to be wed at a private ceremony in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park in California. Sorry friends and family, you are not invited to the ceremony, but please celebrate with us later at one of our parties!
You may be wondering why we chose California, and oh boy, we would love to tell you (spoiler alert, this is about to get mushy).
The redwoods, once seen, leave a mark or create a vision that stays with you always. No one has ever successfully painted or photographed a redwood tree. The feeling they produce is not transferable. From them comes silence and awe. It’s not only their unbelievable stature, nor the color which seems to shift and vary under your eyes, no, they are not like any trees we know, they are ambassadors from another time.
– John Steinbeck
And so we will be wed, walking amongst giants. The redwoods, the supreme ambassadors from centuries past, will officiate our wedding. Their presence and power will bless our hands and our lives together as we say, “I do.” And so they will continue to stand, eternal witnesses to our love and commitment to one another.
(Phew, the mushy stuff is over!)
As if an outdoor wedding the Redwoods isn’t enough adventure, we are doing a California coastal tour the week prior to our wedding! See the details here:
But don’t worry, even though this wedding is planned for just the two of us, we still want you to celebrate with us later. If you haven’t already, check out our Parties Page, pick the event closest to you, and come have a great time! Check back around July to see photos from our ceremony in California!
